Rich Hodgson (spelling?) behind Shorter
I grew up a few towns away from Bloomfield and had a HS teammate who lived there and kne
w Tom well. I would buy my shoes at the Running Room sometimes and one time we joined Tom for his evening run.
I remember he said that he did 10 in the morning and 10 at night. Straightforward and simple. I think the same is stated above here.
It was a big deal for an (17 year old to join a local hero on his run! We ran 10 miles, 6 minute pace (as I recall) and the pace was maybe the steadiest of any run in my life. He was generous with his advice and just a real inspirational guy.
Oh, he also got a poster for me from Bill Rodgers. I wasn't there, but Bill said "what should I write?" Tom said write "Ted, Get A Job" and he did...HA. Great poster.
