What..? Just go to a D3 school and walk on. We had this one senior walk on to corner stone (not sure how because he honestly sucked...like 5:45 mile. And his coach suggested race walking and in his first year he became an all-American placing something like 4th at nationals. It was crazy. Anyway, just go to whatever school you want, there's very little chance they'll say no.
If you are genuinely interested in a particular school, or even just a region, Google that program's cross country team, find the results link, and browse through some of the conference meets. You'll find some schools to check out there.

Vassar. Of course you'd have to get in first.
If you are a female you can go anywhere. If you are a male you need to pick a new sport... perhaps squash?

Why don't you do the mature thing and run by yourself or join a running club? Taking time out of a coach's schedule (he is already working bad hours) to try to get you to run a less garbage (but still hot garbage) time is selfish.
Running for a team in college is for competitors. If you don't want to run competitive times or due trying, go play Frisbee with the bros.
