Ran 5x1k today and was supposed to hit 2:58 with equal rest.

I have no idea what happened with the fourth one, I hit the wall with like 500 left and had to push really hard to the finish. I took a 4 minute break before the last one and was able to run the 2:59 pretty well without slowing down at all?
Was I not in shape to run these times for a workout? Indoor Prs of 9:31 and 4:25. Any advice?
