So basically I'm a 15 year old sophomore. I hope I can be a fast runner, but it's hard to find an honest opinion from coaches and knowledgeable runners who know me.
Freshman year: in XC I improved from 25-20 mins for 5. I started indoor with a 5:35 and made it down to 5:07in the 1600 (all building up from 0 mpw at the start of cross country to 35 in indoor). Under a new coach I was injured the first portion of the season and had my mileage slashed, then only ran 5:09 as my season best (also 2:14/11:04).
This past summer I averaged about 25 mpw, with two unplanned weeks off (head cold and injury). In XC I ended my season with a 17:58 off about 25 mpw, under another new coach (Running the same courses as the year before).
What do you all think? I'd like to run 4:20 (and equivalents for 800/3200) as a senior. Recently my first track workout of the season:
3x1k (3:25,3:24,3:20) 3x400(73,74,69) 3x200(32,32,32), all with 200m active rest.
I commented on another similar thread, but didn't get any responses if this looks familiar.
