The transgender route has to be a pretty difficult path to take. Consider all the internal confusion compounded by society's lack of understanding and outright bigotry regarding your status.
I think they would want a hi visibility transgender to reflect qualities and traits that will get people to understand and accept them.
Now can anyone dispute that Castor Semenya's genetic traits gave her an unfair advantage in the 800? That she used her unique situation in a way that resulted in her gaining an advantage of her non-transgender female competitors. It really wasn't fair to her competitors.
Her race did NOT advance the transgender movement at all but created resentment and anger.
The honorable thing for Castor to do would have been not to race. While other transgenders can't publicly say this and they will voice their support of Castor, on some level they have to realize she hurt the movement. She is no Bruce Jenner.
On some level they should be angry with her.
