Is it necessarily bad to run extremely slow on easy days during the track season?
I recently ran a PR of 4:02 for the mile so I know I am in great shape and am not concerned about being overtrained. However, I find that on most of my easy days (between workouts or just general mileage) it is very difficult to run any faster than 7:20 pace and i'm often finding myself slogging 7:45-7:55 miles. My breathing and HR are totally find but I just can't seem to get my body to move any faster. My mileage is around 60-70mpw so nothing crazy for an ex 5k-10k runner and I get adequate sleep and have a decent diet.
What gives?
