Has anyone torn theirs before and if so what were your symptoms? My knee hurts only sometimes when I rotate it, I can run and have been doing so without much pain. Very little pain when I walk or even climb stairs but dull ache just sitting around. Have run a couple meets on it and it aches afterwords. No locking or anything but sharp pain once in a while. Questioning the seriousness as I have been able to run but idk why it hurts so bad at only certain points, anybody with information would be helpful.
You need to have an MRI. Depending on what is going on you can minimize the damage. Mine had a large tear, the torn piece (horn) moved around and caused more pain. I had a large part of mine removed but have run 6 marathons post-op. Didn't even notice it this year, sometimes it feel a little sore and I can tell it is different but sure beats not running.
If you continue to push it, it can tear more and more and that is what you do not want. See an orthopedic surgeon NOW who specializes in the knee. Smaller tears, depending on location can heal but that is relatively rare from what I gathered. Don't rush post-op recovery and PT. Be smart.
