So I'm a fairly beginner-level rookie runner (been running seriously for a little over a year now) and looking for some advice / opinions on strength training.
I know some people say that weight lifting isn't really all that super important for distance runners and I think I understand why they say that, but I kind of feel like it might be beneficial to do some strength training if for no other reason than to build durability and hopefully prevent injuries.
Anyone care to share their thoughts on this topic? Does anyone have any recommendations or links to helpful resources like videos, websites, or articles I can check out? I know I can just do a google search on this topic, but it seems like there are so many differing view points and I'm not always sure who to believe.
