Podiatry is a bunch of quackery. Every time I've gone to a podiatrist (as well as anyone I know), they're "diagnosis" has been "the arch in your foot is not archy enough" and have prescribed expensive orthotics that they sell in the office. Really?
My most recent experience: $20,000 worth of testing (MRI's AND xrays AND some other random tests, plus 3 appointments) and all I got was the old "you need orthotics b/c your foot is not archy enough". Wow, You go through how many years of training and that's the only diagnosis you know how to do?
Stay away from these quacks. Oh, and this forum is the first time I've learned that they aren't real MD's. Makes a whole lot of sense.
