Who?
Notre Dame is doing something right.
Molly Huddle
Molly Seidel
and Anna Rohrer who did really well as a freshman.
Hard to believe NONE of the Footlocker winners had won NCAAs until today but the curse is broken. Congrats to Molly.
Now only if I had picked her in the prediction contest.
she did it twice
Congrats to Molly! Rohrer did great as well.
Maybe all runners named Molly should go to Notre Dame
fwiw Sarah Baxter was at NXN that year
Bob Kennedy? Or was this delusion relegated to women only?

I was thinking the same. I don't believe that the girl HS XC champion curse is broken yet, since I believe that Baxter was better than Seidel. It is therefore now easier for footlocker winners to become an NCAA winners. As they no longer have to be the best HS girl to win Foot Locker.

Women only.
That is total BS.
Seidel is the better runner, not Baxter.
Great races today - but the coverage was AWFUL. Kennedy wasn't too bad, but the other guys was a knucklehead. The video was horrendous as well.
Hopefully they just let the FLO team handle the video and announcing next year.
This doesn't make any sense at all. Why is it easier for Seidel to win NCAA because Baxter wasn't at footlocker???
I've got no issue with the argument that she wasn't the best high school XC runner that year, but that doesn't somehow make winning NCAA XC easier....
We know that you are dense as plutonium, but not even comprehending the difference between "is" and "was"??? Truly magma-level low in intellect.

Simple
It has been impossible for the best HS girl XC runner to move on to become NCAA XC champion.
My argument is that even after today, it is still proven to be impossible, since the best HS runner in 2011 was Baxter and not Seidel.
Baxter has not own NCAA XC and she never will...
Also, just off the top of my head, I know Emma Bates won the 10k but lost XC in the same year, whereas Seidel accomplished this double...I haven't looked into the last time this happened...does anyone know on the womens side? Obviously Ches has already done this a few times for the men.

Betsy Saina did it last- won XC at Louisvile in 2012 and won the 10k on the track that spring.
And again, in what way does her not being the best in high school make it easier for her to win NCAA XC? That's a ridiculous statement.

For what it's worth, it's called the Footlocker curse, not the best high school girl runner curse...it doesn't imply you have to be the best, just whoever won footlocker. Simple.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
