Does anyone here have a career in digital/online marketing?
How do you like it? Any advice for a recent uni graduate on how to pursue this as a career? What directions is the industry taking?
thx!

Yes, I do. I really love it and have grown into it over the years after starting in sales with a business degree in 2001. Responsibilities include website development and strategy, ecommerce, global digital marketing strategy, SEO, etc.
I'm currently looking to hire some email marketing people, marketing automation people, and SEO experts in the Boston area.
There are jobs that just focus on purely SEO? I thought it was a bunch of different stuff you did?

Go work at a digital ad agency. it's like bootcamp for becoming a digital marketer. apply to a bunch of the big holding group ones. Starcom, MediaVest, Havas, OMD, GroupM (Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, etc.), Digitas - those are all good ones.
That's what I did and it was a great experience.
