Background: Was a runner in high school, continued running about 20-25 miles a week for general health until I was 21 in 2010. I then got really into martial arts and was away from running until the fall of 2014
Overall fitness is what got me back into running. As I've been my weekly miles, I've been cross training in martial arts, swimming, hiking, bear crawling, etc. But I've got the running bug again, and I want to spend as much time as I can on the roads and trails. I'm a big runner (6'1, was 185 before I started running again, now I'm 155), so my concern is how much my connective tissue and joints can handle.
When do you think I'll safely be able to bump up to the 60-70 miles per week zone? Would November of this year be too soon?
My year so far:
January-February: 15-25 miles per week
March-April: 30 miles per week.
May-June: Injured on and off, about 20-25 miles per week again.
July-August: 40-45 miles per week.
