Well, yeah. Once it came within the recreational purview of 30-something white women, what could one expect but self-absorbed trivialization?

Those hags said goodbye to their 30s long, long ago.

Getting men to dress in drag like this is offensive to the trans community. This is the modern day equivalent to blackface.
The race is sponsored by the Arkansas DEMOCRAT Gazette.
Game On?
Pittsburgh (and countless others) have already used that phrase.
You guys are hilarious.
Here's an event that has budget to produce a goofy video, and a long list of sponsors.
The Race Directors and USATF execs are putting real money in their pockets while you guys are offended by an event promoting itself with a goofy video it had enough time and money to make.
Good work Oracle of Running. Good work.
A budget to produce a goofy video?
You realize that YouTube is free, right?
Wow, stop being so defensive. That was the most ridiculous video ever. But then again, it is Little Rock.

Uhhh.... I guess you've never tried to produce a decent looking video on something other than your phone.
Money people. The marathon has it, you don't.
Oh wait, maybe the six-figure sub 2:30 marathoners haven't chimed in yet.
Nailed me. 2:30 and six figures. Which is how I know that producing this video was FREE. Didn't cost a dime.
And by the way, one of my colleagues (Leah) has won this race multiple times.
So the marathon has "money."
Answer me these two questions -
1) How much are they paying their volunteers?
2) How much are they paying their elites?
Thank you.

I'd still hit that with the blonde.
1) If they are paid they are not volunteers.
2) No elites at this race, so there is no money paid.

That's why usatf execs are making 6 figures and elite national level runners are making barista wages if they are really lucky.
The event will come in over budget (that's MONEY) and the LR brain trust will 'protect run ing' from their parent's basement.
Now I want every marathon to have a theme and homespun media. Just to drive some of you crazy. If New York did a CBGB's theme, then I'd totally hobby jog for that!!!
It would boost attendance!!! That's money in the bank for you runners who assigned yourself the job of protecting running from what exactly I do not know.

I'm not sure USATF executives get rich from sanctioning marathons.
http://www.usatf.org/events/sanctions/application/download/info.asp?associationNumber=23That just may have been the dumbest ad I've ever seen.
I am going to volunteer with my buddy and then we are going to file a class action lawsuit just because of this stupid video.
What is the threshold that separates a "hobbyjogger" from a "sub-elite" runner?
