I'd say 7:57 flat had he not fallen
His fall lasted 3 seconds, so that's 7:57 if he would have kept the same pace. However, had he not fallen and had to start again from an unexpected dead stop at the end of such a fast race, I think he would have been able to kick harder at the end, so I say 7:56-something.
He was up and running in 2.5 seconds from the time he hit the track.
The field clock as they round into the home straight is .1 ahead of video clock time. He begins his leap at 7:47.0 1.8 seconds ahead. (not 1.9 as earlier stated). I think he was fairly exhausted and would not have been able to kick any harder even if he had not fallen. No way he goes faster than sub 7:57 even with a bit of a kick off final barrier.
He is capable of 7:55 though and will need that to ensure a gold. The last 500 of the World champs will be sub 60 pace most likely.
