I am currently a senior in high school averaging about 55-60 mpw. My personal bests for this year have both come from indoor 200 meter tracks-where I got a 9:39 in the 32 followed by a 4:30 in the 16 about 45 minutes later. Both races seemed pretty relaxed.
My latest workout was a 10x400 meters with 1 minute rest, my splits were 67, 65, 64, 65, 65, 66, 65, 66, 66, 65. They seemed pretty hard, but nothing too terrible.
With my first outdoor meet coming up, what times do you think I can run?

If they really were 45 minutes apart, and you felt like you were running not quite 100% ... then I agree.
I don't think you could go 4:24 right away, the weather won't support it. But you shouldn't go any slower than 4:30 even though indoor miles are sometimes faster than early season outdoor miles. Especially if these 2 races were at your Indoor State Meet.
This week, first meet - 4:29-33 and 9:40-9:50 if it is a small meet and the 1600 is first. Slower if you live in a cold-weather state. (It is 35 degrees here today).
Two weeks from now - 4:28/9:37 -- faster if you are in a perfect weather state.
