The 200 m this year will be one of the most stacked 200m ever ....Who will win
The 200 m this year will be one of the most stacked 200m ever ....Who will win
Why did you leave out Ahoure?
Felix is on the backside of a long career, she has a lot of miles on her engine. She's young in age, but began racing pro as a teenager. I don't know how much she has left.
Okagbare and Ahoure will be solid. Schippers looked good last year, but if she devotes time to hep it's going to be very hard for her to get the most in the 200M.
Shelly will probably run very few 200M this year to pace herself for a double in Rio. She has an automatic berth in Beijing as defending champion, but 200 is not really her best event
Bowie has a ton of potential, but she if not fit, she's frail and broke down at least 3 times last season.
I left ahoure out ...Cause someway she doesnt look like a solid 200 m runner 2 me ....altho she is a great bend runner ...I cant see her be on top of a 200...maybe im wrong .....
I think out of them Felix and okagbare has the most chance and if Dafne just concentrate on the 200 m she will be dangerous...
Maybe im wrong but ahoure never impress me in the 200 m ...While she is a glock when it comes to 60 m or 100 m
if you remember last year ..Felix.blew ahoure in every single 200 m they raced against each other ....and she even was coming out of an injury .....I think Felix is still the one to beat ...and Bowie is a great and powerfull talent also ..
Felix was coming back from a very bad hamstring strain all year. She did not get in speed all year because of the injury. But when she finally put it down in the last race, it really wasn't close--only Okagbare was even in the race.
If a healthy Allyson gets out and around the bend like she did last year, only a healthy VCB has a chance to hang. The only question is whether the ham will ever be absolutely 100% of what it was before the injury, and whether she still has what she once had in the 100 (10.89).
I wonder the same if her hamstring is ready to handle all those rounds of 200 m...But she even talks about running 400 m now ...soo i think She is just doing fine ......She is very silent this year about her plans ....which remind me alot of 2012 ....if She has atleast a 10.95 in her ...No way they will catch her ......Once she starts doing 400 m ...She will get that endurance perfectly together ...for homestraight ....I think ahoure ...dafne ...are spending alot of energy in the indoor season which will only help tired their legs ....thats why ahoure never peaks right at championships
The problem comes wether fwlix chooses to 100/200 , 200 alone or 400/200 ....Thats the main question ....i think the 200 m alone ...she has the best chance to get the gold ....

Felix finished the season ranked number one coming off of injury...she is still the one to beat. Btw, the 200m in 2012 was as stacked as could possibly be. Statistically, the 2012 Olympic 200m was the most stacked race in modern track & field history and Felix won. If Felix can gets back into sub-22 shape, only SAFP and/or VCB will challenge her. Remember a sub-22, is 2 sub-11s back to back, therefore to beat Felix you need to be a 10.7x 100m sprinter or a 10.8x with sub-50 400m strength.
Ahoure won silver in '13. So second best in the world is not solid to you?
Are you joking posting that?
She was almost beaten by Wildchild Soumare in that race. (And what race were you watching?)
Allyson could return to form, but it's a question mark. She has a lot of miles. Either way I don't see her ever beating Shelly in a big race with a medal at stake.

How could you say that about an athlete you finished last season ranked number one.
How could I say what? That she was almost beaten by Soumare? She was. To her and Soumare's credit it was a fast race. That doesn't guarantee either will be dominant this season. Schippers had a great time like that too earlier
Yeahhh A solid runner isnt about who grabbed a medal but more about the time ...she ran 22.30 in that championship which i dont consider a solid time ..I think she is more of 100 m then a 200 ...and Yeah if u didnot know ...Felix already returned to form last ...year ...running 22.02 a time only she has ran faster in 3 years ....She is still on top ...And is a little pointless to say she has alot of miles in her tank ....Whatt ....Most of the girls like Okagabare Ahoure ..Fraser Has the same amount of miles in them....They were running since a tennage or kid ...soo thats really pointless to.me
I saw the race many times and its more like Soumare trying to hang up for the second place .....Soumare was losing her form while felix was all the way soo relaxed ....And how dare you say that if Fraser is in the race Felix will not win ...Are you even joking ...Felix has beat Fraser all the way when it comes to 200 m ....Are you even serieus .....Have you even watched last season ...Felix even Beats her in her main event ....Fact or not Shelly always wins her 100 by her start ...after that ...she cant hold her form properly ...for someone who runs 10.70 .....a 22.09 pb is indeed a little slow
Felix has been an elite sprinter since 2003. Shelly since 2008, Ahoure and Okagbare for only a few years
In head to head, Shelly vs Felix, Shelly leads 10-3, including their last two meetings at 200M
Shelly has won world golds in the 60m, 100m, 200m
Felix has only won individual gold in the 200m, no other event
(both have won numerous relays golds)
Are you serious ....I can name like 10 ocassions felix Beats shelly ...Do ome research ...Shelly was since evwr a mwdiocre 200 m runner ...
Felix holds national title in all.three event .....Felix is by far a more complete runner then shelly ....i love shelly but the 200 m is all about a lucky day for her
SAFP's domain is the 100, period. In the 200, she'll get beaten every time when a medal is on the line if Felix is in the race. SAFP is no Campbell Brown (the only Jamaican woman who can actually give Felix a challenge).
What's more is that if Schippers decides to run the 200 and Bowie can maintain her health. SAFP is looking at no higher than 4th (3rd if she's lucky)
I see alot of potential in Okagbare and I think she'll get close to the 22 second barrier this year. It's long over due.
you are soo right ....Shelly is a great 100m runner .....and she has been so consistent ....But Felix is PHoenix ...Everytime she rises up she gets stronger Lmao
Okagbare has lot of potential ...She has to start running the bend Better and more consistent and she has to stop choking at big championships ....But she has a great talent ....
Schippers ...I will have to see few more race ..this year cause some Athletes are kinda like "one hit wonder " ....BUt she has talent ...
Tori Bowie if she is healthy is the one to watch....I think The medal stands Between BOwie ,Phoenix , Okagbare ...
