Looks like one of the greatest all around athletes ever, oh and then the basketball stuff.

Over striding. Too busy looking at the camera.
Unnaturally over striding, wasting energy, obviously long natural stride though. He must be exaggerating for a reason.
Over striding? Nope, he is 7-feet tall.
Too busy looking the camera? Nope, he is looking at his coach for instructions, like all runners tend to do.
Dude looks tall. Did he ever play basketball?
The greatest runners with best strides did not lift their toes up to the sky like he is doing.
Wilt was a high jumper, fool.
Thanks for posting this picture. He is my all time favorite athlete.
Her is Wilt with his toes pointed down, like you prefer.

The greatest runners usually don't run in high tops.
Yup. 49.0 for 440y and 1:58 for 880y in high tops. Let's see the greatest runners top Wilt's T&F PRs:
high jump 6 feet, 6 inches
440 yards 49.0 seconds
880 yards in 1:58.3
shot put 53'-4",
broad jumped 22'
...while wearing high tops.
Not as good as his hook shot.
I though a decathlete might top Wilt, but the two WR setters below fell short in the shot put.
Bruce Jenner: Shot put PR, 50'-4½"
Ashton Eaton: Shot put PR, 50'-6"
Here is Wilt blocking two Kareem shots in a row. The second block is the only time anyone ever blocked one of Kareem's unblockable sky hooks.

Wilt could really jump, ergo his long running stride.

I believe a high school shot weighs less, but it would still be very good
The high jump and 400/800 are right in line with the Olympic decathletes as well... I wonder if he ever did the hurdles
Oh, and Jenner's HJ PR is 6'8" and Eaton's HJ PR is 6'7". The importance difference is the Fosbury Flop (1965) was not yet invented when Wilt jumped 6'6" in 1962.

I believe WIlt's marks were all set in college, at Kansas, which he attended fro 1956-1958. I got his PR years wrong. Wilt was a basketball pro in 1959. SO, he T&F PR's should be 1958, or earlier.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
