It's balding that makes you look like shit. Going grey makes you look distinguished like a silver fox.

It depends. If you have a full set of hair, it looks great at about 27, 28 on a handsome face paired with a beard or scruff.

The answer is that it starts looking good at least 5 years after you start to get grey hair - maybe 10.
At whatever age it starts, it doesn't look good. The transition period is tough.
It'll start looking good when it is nearly completely grey.
Balding is similar.
The beginning of balding looks bad on everyone, no matter their age.
But at a certain stage, many men can pull a good bald look.
