LetsRun is not Runner's World. Can we be treated like real race fans please?

All they did was link and ESPN article, and any fan of running should be happy that there is any exposure at all in the main stream media.
You sure are a bitter little toad, aren't you?
Let it go, Shalane. Let it go.

relevant info for busy people that train to run competitively, no?
if there was a link to a couch -to 3k- back to couch-to 2k for a total of 5k program then I would agree with your gripe
Not much to be bitter about. And I'm happy something is out there in the world. It's simply distilled crap and not relevant for the experienced readers of LR. If Ryan Hall joins a new church, does that press release make it to the homepage? How about if Lauren Fleshman provides input into the Oiselle line? Anyone here care about that?

Me, I care!
Ryan Hall joined a new church? Why am I always the last to find out about these things.
How does Kara Goucher find time to pander to the patriarchy in between her family, marathon training and herself?
There's an audience for what Kara G is involved in. I'm not sure why that galls people here so much. Get beyond it.
This site is not just a fan site, but a site for runners. The issue of children is a big one for female runners, both for amateurs and elites. There is very little information out there about running and pregnancy. Having an elite runner share her experience is something that is very valuable to women having children or considering having kids. I think a lot of good female runners quit running altogether or stop racing because they think that they cannot or should not keep running and racing after having kids. Kara's interview is good for the sport in that it lets women know that they can and should keep running and racing after they have kids.
She looks good in and out of her bun huggers.

Please. Kara Goucher may look like the mom next door but she has one child, a husband who is attached to her hip (and can watch her child at any moment), and an income most middle age moms (including myself) do not. I'm a female runner just a few years younger than Kara and the only thing I find relatable about her is hair color.
The "Your friend, Kara" article was borderline arrogant as is her constant reminder that she isn't going anywhere. We know you're not going anywhere Kara, you tell us monthly. I'd much rather hear about Deena Kastor or Paula Radcliffe as a role model for female runners, not a woman who gives her own toddler a twitter account.
Au contraire (this is a French idiom for jamin and hingle and anyone else who missed out on formal education). Kara provides an excellent an example of how to manipulate the media for fun and profit.
Just wow. Thanks for sharing, I think?
Kara Goucher is cool.
Haven't checked, but I think Piper Bloom has a twitter account, too?
What's with all the KG hate? Sure she may not be in her prime like she was years ago but I give her props for continuing to pursue her goals of being a top American female runner. I guess I don't understand why people have a problem with that. If it were me, I would be working on getting back to that place too. I know people say she is all talk, but I find nothing wrong with setting lofty goals and speaking about them. You are more likely to reach them than talking negatively about yourself! And as a female and mother, that article is something I would read, even if I am not at the same level or have all the same luxuries as her. Since let's run is predominantly males, I can see the lack of interest, but why the need to make a big commotion about it? I give her, Lauren fleshman, oiselle, whoever etc credit for what they do. Not even because I am female, but because they seem happy, enjoy what they do and are brining attention to the sport.
And yes, deena kastor's 3 year old also has a twitter account.
lol. You're over shooting you audience here.
Meeeeeeeoooooowwww!
Don't be so insecure kitty cat, things will get better for you.
Is there a single thing the entitlement generation won't bitch and cry about?
Answer: by having no job except running.
Actually, it's a cute little article with some nice thoughts about the physical part of being a mom. Not sure the time angle is all that relevant to most moms since KG's job is to exercise and most moms have to find time to exercise outside of their jobs, which are likely more time consuming than KG's exercise job.

To be clear, I have no problem with Kara and what she chooses to write about. She seems like a perfectly nice person, a good runner, and a smart marketer. I have a problem with real running publications and sites broadcasting everything she dishes out when she's not competitive on the world - or even American - stage.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
