Hey I'm a division 1 800 meter runner. My friend at another d1 school started training with an elevation mask he is a 100-200 guy. I was just wondering if it is something worth getting or just a waste of time and money?

This has been discussed numerous times on the boards.
Elevation masks make breathing harder; they do not limit the % of oxygen present when you inhale. So while you may be able to breathe easier with it off, it doesn't necessarily stimulate the red blood cell production that altitude tents (or just living at altitude) do.
You'll only look like a retarded Bane cosplayer and have a really tough time breathing.
There's no noticeable benefit. You want altitude training? Train in altitude.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
