If Golson was not a turnover machine, they would have a better chance of winning every game.
If Golson wasn't playing, ND would be 4-3, 5-2, at best, right now. Those turnovers just made things close in every game. His play elevates ND to consideration for the playoff. Without him, ND is playing on Christmas Day, not on New Year's Day or after.
ND ran the same play on the first play of their second series. Incomplete on the left side. Same set up, same "blocking". The corner covering Robinson ran underneath the "blocking" receivers and caused an incompletion. On the last play of the game he ran over the top of the "blocking" and would never have made it to Robinson regardless of the "blocking"/holding. They run that play ALL the time...
...and on 3rd and goal with :13 to go, in Tallahassee, with the defending BCS champion on the ropes, they throw the flag for the FIRST time all night, the FIRST time all year.
The referees called a great, CONSISTENT game all night and ruined it in the last :13. If they had called that all night, ND would have run the play differently and probably would not have interfered (it was really holding).
By the book, that was the correct call. In the context of the game, it was a ghastly, awful call.
