Pissed off that it just showed up on my itunes and I deleted without listening.
Be prepared to laugh. The longer you go the better they get.
I fully expected to see all the links to the U2 hate sites and the comments about how the album was forced upon itunes users without their consent oh woe is me etc etc etc....
...but has anyone actually LISTENED to the fkn thing? :)

Listen, U2 has some absolutely fantastic albums... but they were released in the 80s and veeeeeery early 90s. Most of the people posting that stuff were probably born after 1999.
U2 has done nothing worth a damn in 20 years.
I make a point to introduce my kids to classic music of all kinds, but most parents do not.
I do not think that I would know a Moody Blues or Frank Zappa tune if it weren't for my father. Both of those bands were better than U2.
Now.... with regard to Apple adding U2 to everyone's library. That is just wrong. Don't go adding crap to my private library. I don't want it and it is creepy to think that it is no big deal for a corporation to just slip something into my personal music collection.
u2 sucks. Always has, and always will.
That's all that needs to be said.
I think those guys will collecting Social Security pretty soon
Did you listen to the new album?

I've heard the song on the commercial. It's average at best.

Kinda hailing back to one of the other threads there's been a lot of action on lately, this is one of those things that you agree to when you accept their terms and agreements to be able to use the device. If people don't like it, they shouldn't accept it.

Was it actually added to people's libraries though? For me, it just showed up in my purchased music, which gave me the option to download it for free. It didn't show up in my music, and wasn't downloaded. I couldn't listen to it until I chose to download it. I'm overall really confused on the controversy?
They put it out on the Cloud as a purchase. Anyone who had turned on the “Automatic Downloads” feature got it whether or not they wanted it. If you didn't have the Auto Download, you got the option to download it.
Not really a big deal either way.

I saw the southpark episode where a major plot point involved accepting the user agreement. One of the funniest ever!
I listened to it once. Not a fan, but I can see why others like it. I'm sure you're not the only one.
The whole situation reminds me of when my grandma gave me a sweater for Christmas, I didn't want it, but I still wore it once. Then it hung in my closest until I gave it away. I wasn't mad at my grandma, in fact I even said thank you.
I'm glad Apple gave me free songs and they weren't difficult to remove from my phone. I only worry, because if they can put music on your phone, what is stopping them from putting advertisements on your phone?
What's to stop Tim Cook from coming to your house and stuffing flyers in the mailbox? Nothing really, but no sense worrying about it.
I like U2, especially the stuff from my college years. However, I don't have iTunes, and haven't heard even a preview of any of the new songs, despite searching youtube and doing web searches. Free for Apple users, but difficult for others to listen to at the moment.
Album?
They brought those back?
