I got pressured into basketball going into and during freshman year of HS.

I was pretty good, but running held a better future.

Basketball is obviously a more attractive sport.

Tell them you're not playing and they might stop.

Screw them. Do what's best for you.

Hmmm...I think I'm going to stop lifting weights so I can focus on football. That statement makes about as much sense.

As far as your problem, it's confusing why the basketball coach would want you that bad when you said you're not even good at the sport. You figure he would cut you after tryouts anyway given that basketball roster size is so limited. Consider yourself lucky - not many HSers actually get "recruited" by coaches. And I don't konw any that have actually been harassed - maybe it's your interpretation of some fairly benign invites by them to try their sports?

Oh you poor thing. How about growing a spine instead of whining about being harassed? Just say, "I have no interest, the answer is No, and don't ask me again." Say it in front of other people so they hear you loud and clear. Then the next time the coaches ask you just ignore them.

There will be a lot worse waiting for you when you graduate if you don't learn to stand up for yourself NOW.
