Let's not jump to conclusions here, ok. Colorado is facing a lot of hurdles in getting good recruits
You would think they could 'chase down a few, though.

It's been 5 years since Jenny ran 3:59 while focusing on steeple. You'd think they'd get more than one stud since.
Don't forget Emma!!!

Perhaps she was doing 1500m training the whole time and just racing steeple.
Even if not,the training for steeple shouldn't be that much different than training for the 1500m. They are adjacent events.
I was wondering the same thing. I heard Cranny was considering going there. I wish she had, I feel like Wetmore could do a much better job with her than Stanford.

Yeah, thing is if Stanford really wants you how do you turn that down? Brand name education that will help you immensely for the rest of your life, full ride scholarship and a historically successful running program.
High Schoolers don't follow college or pro distance running. Look at Mary "oblivious" Cain, she is as good as they get and never knew anything about the sport. I can't imagine she is unaverage in that sense. I feel these athletes probably pick their schools based on two things (1) $$$ and (2) how they like the coach. Wetmore/Borroughs don't seem to appeal to the sensibilities of the big middle distance athletes. Plus most of the 800/1500m athletes are going to go elsewhere. The high mileage program is very foreign to them.
Besides, Jenny is just one person. The general trend does not have Colorado looking like a middle distance developing dynasty. Nobody seems to really be cornering the market on collegiate middle distance running right now anyways so its easy to see why guys and gals are going every which direction.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
