I'm going into my senior year, and I think I can make some huge gains in my PR's, but I'm having so much trouble overcoming the mental obstacles of running. I feel like I'm so much faster than I was. I was running 5:09 in the 1600 in February, but at finals only ran 4:49. I've only PR'ed in my cross country pace by about 5 sec per mile in my time in high school. Also when I finish a race, the second I finish I'm ready to go on cool down run, while others are understandably trying to recover from running hard. During the race I don't feel like I could have gone any harder, but at the same time I don't feel like I'm capable of really pushing myself to my limits. Any tips and/or tricks to help me push harder longer?
