Wickstrom? The same wickstrom who ran 29:47 @ the Spartan invite?
I dont think so.
Jani Lane (Michigan Tech) as a sleeper on the Men's side, about time he starts running well again.
800: Windle
1500: Baum/Hall
Steeple: Williams (unless rumors of Baum are true, he will run away with it)
5k: Peterson GV
10k: Johnson AU
It can be dicey predicting what a talented runner will do in the Steeplechase when they have little to no experience in it. Teams have thrown good runners in that race at GLIACs before thinking it was easy points or a potential win. Doesn't necessarily work out that way. Regardless, I doubt Baum would easily run away from Williams if he chose to run the Steeple. Williams is pretty good at it...
Bladecki might take the 1500; I think he's due for a sub 4:10 this season which could make or break Baums 3:47.
Also if wickstrom(sp) doubles 5k/10k, and all other contenders in the GLIAC fail to be eligible this season, he will no problem take both with sub 17/sub 37 groundbreaking PRs.
Yea it would be neat to see a senior in college break times that women could beat. and do beat. especially his own teammate Anna. If its tactical Bladecki has the win because of his ability to turn 57 second 400m
It's douchey... Making fun of runners. Stay classy.

Well...if you saw the race this evening...he ran away from Williams.
GLIACXC, I know you like Malone but seriously, your best bet is to pick another runner from a different team. They choked at indoor conference ( don't say they didn't ... they did. )maybe because of poor coaching. Who knows.
On top of that they choked at the XC regional. They choked at the outdoor GLIAC meet of last year as well.
Seriously, be done with them. Some are talented no doubt but not the "elite" of the conference.
I'm not a Malone fan... But anyway, prior to the race Williams had a pb of 9:03.8 whereas Baum had no SC time I was aware. And you think it's unreasonable to predict Baum wouldn't beat him easily? If there is a bias it seems pretty clearly to be yours. 2.3 seconds isn't earth shattering in a 3k race and isn't "running away easily" for someone. Great debute for Brian Baum.
It would be nice to have a thread without silly trash talk. But whatever... It seems this board is incapable of discussing Ashland or Malone without talking like jackas**es
I see Baum breaking 9:00. Can't say the same about Williams.
Ok... So? Based off of last weekend I think Baum can break 9:00 also. But my original comments were made prior to Baum running 9:11 in his opener. I've seen talented runners move to the SC and not sniff 9:00 due to inexperience. That was my entire point... I never said it was impossible.
BTW, Williams ran 9:03.8 last year. 9:14 isn't a bad opener at all. Barring inclement weather, it is common to see a jump up in performance as a steepler moves forward after the 1st race of the season. I don't see Williams running under 9:00 as something far fetched at all.
800: Windle
1500: Baum
3k SC: Truckowski
5k: Bradley
10k: Mirth
Is it true Baum has a stress fracture?

Yeah thats not true. Baum is fine and in good health. Will continue steepling and running the 1500 this outdoor season
He went in for an x-ray thinking he had a stress fracture in his foot, but they actually discovered a series of cracks in his tibia, so he's out for a good 2 months… Bummer.
800: I'm going to go with Webster for the win and upset. He has zeroed in on Windle the last few races. Especially at Nationals. Also, I have a feeling Windle may double with the 1500, which gives Webster an advantage.
1500: If Windle doubles I think he wins this race easily. A tactical race most likely, and no one has the footspeed to go with him.
3k Steeple: Baum. He is strong as an ox, and unless the rumors are true he should win easy. If the rumors are true you gotta go with Williams from Malone.
5k: Hard to say with who is doubling and who is not. Some fresh guy from GV probably wins this.
10k: Moskalewski from GV wins. Mirth from Hillsdale gets second.
Team title goes to GV as usual. Depth is too strong for other schools to put a dent in the team score
