Jason Dunn will be the new University of Oklahoma distance coach. Great hire for the Sooners, with a stellar recruiting class coming in that includes 4:02 miler Jacob Burcham and Junior College National Champ in the 1500 and steeple-Alex Deir.

the better hire is Watson to replace Dunn at Kentucky.
Besides the opportunity to coach a better program, any other reason Dunn left Kentucky for OU?
I am sure the same reason sprint coach, Roderick Dotts
left the Kentucky program.
Ok, which begs the question: why did Dotts leave the Kentucky program?
The same reason Dunn did.

What rhymes with Boreal?
Seems like a step down to go from Kentucky to Oklahoma.

Learn what "begs the question" means.
"Raises the question" is the phrase you're looking for.
Oklahoma has placed 5th-6th-8th the past 3 NCAA XC Championships.
Texas hire looking worse and worse...
Was Dunn coaching the 2 girls at KY who got super fit but didn't do anything at NCAAs? Didn't he coach at VA or W&M. Wow OK is a pit. Football maybe but a can only imagine how hard it would be to recruit kids from the East or West coasts to come to the flatlands.

Actually, Devries coaches those girls and one was actually 6th at cross at 3rd in the 3k at indoors. So I'm not sure they "didn't do anything"
Delores?

You mean the 2 All Americans at Nationals?
It is a great hire. Even though Stanford did not win Nationals XC with Dunn as coach, he not only did a fine job recruiting talent, but also developing some of it, for example, Derrick and Riley. I don't know the circumstances of why he left Stanford--I know the head coach took the same job at Kentucky--but I'm not sure Kentucky has ever devoted itself to track (except for horses). Smith did a very good job at developing the distance program at Oklahoma, and they do have a good endowment.
The only reason why Oklahoma finished well last yearwas because they invested in Seniors. Now they have lost basically all there team and won't make nationals this year.
You obviously do not understand how complex a team is. There is not only 1 reason a team is successful. haha. It might of been an important factor, but not the only reason.
I don't get this jumping around crap and then saying "they are doing a great job".
He left Stanford for Kentucky then goes to Oklahoma! WTF?
Why would anyone want to run for a guy like that?
How can you judge him when he jumps around so much?
I get the moving to a better program, but he is just moves around!
Add to the list Vigilante and Hartman,
They did nothing outdoors. Injured.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
