Don't know if Bekele is strong enough now. Also, in the WC 5000 in 2009, Lagat passed Bekele in the stretch, then Bekele took the lead again for the win. He'd have to kick at that level to win gold in Moscow.

Average Letsrun poster:"I want to marry Miss Universe." Does this give you "a good feeling" about their ability to attract the opposite sex?
Good point. They don't realize that Miss Universe is looking for something with a well defined biceps. Big arms is what wins the girls.
Is that why you're on here, looking for gay guys.
All the top Ethiopians are gonna be in the same 5000? They've got like 8-10 guys able to go sub 13 so that might actually be harder to win than Worlds! ;-)

Umm....they do NOT have 8-10 guys able to go sub 13. Right now it looks like maybe 4-5 at most.
Farah DOB: 23 MAR 1983
Bekele DOB: 13 JUN 1982
Lagat DOB: 12 DEC 1974
It's tricky to say whether it's age or not. It's been 8 years since Bekele's 10,000 WR, while Farah is still at a peak, and Lagat is still going strong.
Lagat and Farah have a plehtora of training partners, Bekele trains mostly alone, that would be mentally draining after 12 years of dominance. He may still have the ability to lead a 10k from 6k to finish but I doubt he is training to accomplish that the same with crushing a 5k in sub 12:55 fashion, its totally possible but to do it on the olympic stage when you will most certainly be running that entire pace by yourself?
I'd rather see him join Salazaar or Hudson or partner up with Ryan Hall and move onto the roads.
Kenenisa doesnt train with his brother Tariku? figure he did, but anyways haven't hard much from Tariku in a while
