7.50 at 3k for main pack
Pacer is way out in front, still in the race at 10 min. lead group led by Choge. Bekele is falling off the pace
Bekele dropped out!!!
DNF DNF DNF
12:07 at the bell. Choge & Edris
Choge 12:07 at the bell. Pacer might hang in for 2nd
Edris wins 13:04. Beastly last 100m
I can't actually tell if Edris was in for pace. He was way out in front at 3000 and looking back so I thought he was the guy to take them to 3000. He wasn't on the official list as a pacer.
Then he steals the race from Choge. Not sure if Bekele finished. He was way back if he did
results will be here when they are ready. Edris of ethiopia won in 13:04, then Choge right behind him, then a big gap to 3rd and the rest of the field.
Looked hot, maybe not great conditions. Only 57 last lap in a 13:04 race, but that was good enough to toast Choge in the last 100
Dunno if he was pacer I only saw from 2k in. Bekele definitely dropped out. Pace wasn't even that fast.

around 20C/68F. good conditions.
Did it seem like KB is dealing with an injury, or just not recovered from the Eugene 10k? It seemed a little silly to try for a fast 5k time so soon after, especially since he seems to think he's not in that good of shape right now according to the interview he gave...but maybe this was his last chance to make the 5k team for worlds

In the post race interview KB said that the travel, and lack of recovery time between the two races was the biggest factor. He was very tired.
Next, he mentioned that he still had some lingering injury (although be it slight)- he then responds to getting back to full fitness as he had been before (wr times). "It is possible to get to 80-90% of my past fitness, but he is not sure if that will happen before Moscow."
jet lag.
