Good luck to him, I hope he does it.
If he does, great. At NON or whatever it is called now, I hope he makes a serious attempt at the 800 record.

It's a bit late for that, after all that 1600/3200 training.

You're right. There's no way he can race an 800 off miler training.
I mean, there's no way he could run a 1:47 a week after training for and running an 8k XC race at the World Junior XC championships. That would never ever happen. Oh wait...
I don't see where he says that quote.
He says it right at the end of the flotrack clip.
The way he says it is just like the way a Super-Bowl winning QB says "I'm so-and-so and I'm going to Disneyland."
Good for him. Interesting that he was a baseball player.
They told him to say that and Montoya.
Funny, how he is sporting all the adidas gear and wearing a singlet when everyone else is wearing a shirt. And, why all the scowls? Finally, that is the worst looking asphalt track.
That's some old school training on a bland asphalt track.
I love it!
This kid is something and there is some serious competition this year.
This is the most anticipated high school race I can ever think of.
I don't usually follow high school at all.

Seriously? He's gone 1:47, 4:04, and 8:51 this spring, all basically solo efforts winning by a ton.
His splits are more impressive. 1:18 @ 600 ~ 1:47
1:58 @ half ~ 4:04
4:20? @ half ~ 8:51
If anything this kid needs more mileage and he can run even splits instead of positive splitting.

that's not a real thing. The only record to chase is 3:53.43, which no one has a chance at. I do think Arroyo will win, and I think he'll be sub 4, he's got Webb-like speed but not Webb-like strength. I predict a 3:58. Definitely the most talented middle distance runner since Webb.
His 800/3200 bracket and training says he is capable of it. The other good thing is, there are at least 3-4 kids who's goal is to break 4, which means the pace is not going to lag on the 3rd lap. With that said, he can probably break 4 and not win the race; if Edward is rested and peaking for this race, I can't see anyone beating him. I can see this race rewriting the books, with 2 kids going sub-4 and a host of 4:00-4:02.
Btw, they should make this a true H.S. only race and drop the professional rabbit.
Couldn't agree more. I honestly don't care who wins. I'm just stoked at how far along American H.S. distance running is progressing. This race is going to be epic. Where can we see the race online btw?
All I heard was some dumb music playing.

Oi, back to this again. The rabbit is in HS.
