False start
Trash talk. The OK guys wouldn't shut up with the 'steers and queers' bit and the TX guys kept trying to ask if they had accepted JC as their personal savoir. It was quite a scene.
failure to participate is not DNS I assume
Here on pg 15 it says "honest effort" next to the DQ. Like Mahkloufi in the 800 at the Olympics? http://big12sports.com/pdf9/2104623.pdf?DB_OEM_ID=10410

maybe they got lapped too many times?
Typically in league meets or other championships, dropping out of one race makes you ineligible for the meet's remaining events. In the results they register DNF as DQ likely for this reason.
What's the point of getting in the race if it's going to put 6.21 miles on your legs and you're just going to sandbag it? In no way does it put them in a better position for another event. Makes no sense at all to me.
Unless they're providing pacing services for someone else.

or set a false pace requiring the competition to alter their plans on the off chance that the runner is in xx:xx shape and actually going for it. Thus permitting their teammates to ignore the surge or the breakaway knowing it is a manoeuvre de diversion.
In no way would Oklahoma be providing pacing services for Texas and Oklahoma State so one would either be trolling or doesn't bother to check the results to come to this post.

My explanation - these guys had just done a fist pump for placing top-3 and that same official that DQ'ed the relay team happened to be officiating the Big 12 meet.
Racey dancing.
They were pacing for people on there team.
