I'm not impressed.

I know Sarah Baxter has never lost a 3200m race...but she should try racing mary cain!! cain>baxter

How many national xc titles does Cain have? What is their head to head record? Baxter>Cain.

First of all, I suspect the OP is a troll hoping Baxter would get bashed.

So lets not take this out of context.....I was at the meet. She literally JOGGED both races. Her coach only lets her go all out for the big meets. Last Year she ran a 10:44 3200 the week before she ran the 10:08 at Arcadia. This year in XC she ran 16:12 on an all flat course and later when on to run 16 flat on the hilliest course in the nation. This conservative "holding her back" approach taken by her coach is in my opinion a large reason for her success.

Baxter is done HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I guess a HS national title is pretty impressive.. not as impressive as a US national title that Cain will have after the mile tomorrow but close enough, right?

also she ran 10:35.93.. rounds up to 10:36.. not impressive at all.

Don't be a loser. What Cain does has no relevance on how successful Baxter is. It's losers like you who damage the sport.

Since when did the mile distance determine who is better? Was Cain leading Baxter in the mile at NXN? I don't think so. Not at 2 miles and not at 3.

Erin finn recently ran a 10:08 at brooks pr meet and she also ran a mile pr in 4:45 I think already this season. And witha 16:19 5k pr if shes not going too crazy now it would be interesting to see baxter vs finn strength vs strength. Also interested on what anna rohrer can do in spring?

I wouldn't even pay attention to the above trolls as they know what this performance was....a workout. For some reason they feel the need to stir up some sort of rivalry between high school girls.

I could give two shits if Baxter wins national titles or if this was a workout or not, I want to see records DESTROYED and Mary Cain delivers. Baxter is great but she's not going 9:38 anytime soon. Just accept that if it were any other year where Mary Cain wasn't obliterating records left and right, Baxter would be more exciting to watch. She's sitting on the back burner right now. Maybe it's just me but watching a girl shattering records that have stood for 30-40 years is more exciting than watching a girl win NXN two years in a row. My two cents. I will say this, I hope they meet up in a 2 mile sometime soon. The only reason that Baxter is undefeated against Cain is because the only time that they've ever raced has been on a 5k XC course.

Sarah Baxter is a great runner. However she is a level below Mary Cain. Mary Cain will be at the 2016 Olympics fighting for a medal while Baxter will be prepping for her Junior year of college CC. The 2013 NXN and Footlocker CC titles belong to Mary Cain and there is nothing Baxter can do about it. Her time at the top was spectacular but Mary Cain is setting the world on fire now.

So what? It's a great accomplishment but it's a yearly award. Some girl is going to win Gatorade Girls ROY award yearly. Mary Cain is breaking records that have stood for 30+ years.
