I switched from wearing very minimalist-type Nikes to wearing Asics with a lot more cushioning and support. Is there a possibility that a switch in these shoes could've caused a groin strain? My new shoes feel a lot heavier. Should I keep running in them and getting used to them, or should I try a different shoe? |

Heavier shoes can certainly change footstrike, pronation, and your gait, which can cause injury if the switch is sudden. My advice would be to ease into the new shoes. Since you're coming from minimalist shoes, maybe run a couple days a week in the heavily cushioned shoes at first and up it from there. |
