RECRUITING CLASS IS SHAPING UP TO BE SCARY
they signed the 6A Georgia state champ girl - who easily ran the fastest all-class time last wknd on a tough course - and who plays b-ball in the winter...Serious potential there.
TONY MORALES 2014
Furman hasn't "signed" anyone... seeing how signing day is not until February 6th.
Connor Sorrells and Troy Reeder are very nice verbals. I would think those two will just be the start of the landslide that is a great recruiting class for the Paladins.
I said it before and I'll say it again:
I'd love to see Furman become a Southern version of Iona.

Having the hot Iona miler from Australia down training with Furman Elite group is a great start!
Furman will constantly be overrated. Just like Ohio State.
Who is in the Furman elite group?
Scott,
Go to runfurman.com
Read entire mission statement. Interesting things going on there.
The funny thing is that no matter how many good recruits they get, Furman will never be able to win their conference with all the kenyans at UNCG.
Yeah, seems like a great program and opportunity. I've always debated moving to the Greenville area. Wish they accepted old marathoners.

You should move back to SC Scott.
Furman cross country does the most unorthodox workouts ever.
One workout they did just about every week was
1.5 mile at 8k pace. 3 minute rest. Sub 30 200. 3 min rest. 1.5 mile at 8k pace. 3 min rest. sub 30 200. 3 min rest. 1.5 at 8k pace. 3 min rest. sub 30 200.
This is all on the track.
Also they do the "jig-jog" which is there version of a fartlek. They do a lap in 75, jog lap, lap on 65, jog lap, lap in 75, jog lap, lap in 60.
They do 5 75s and 5 65s.
I don't know how these workouts produce good runners but it does.
Can't say I've ever heard of Furman kids doing that one... maybe in the 90's?
MEN"S VERBALS THUS FAR (JUNIOR TRACK STATS)
CONNOR SORRELLS 9:01, 4:15
TROY REEDER 4:09, 9:14
TANNER HINKLE 9:14, 14:53
WHO'S NEXT??????

Who?
And a serious question is how long will it be before NCAA rules are broken at Furman by Rita? I predict 2 years before they are investigated.
i predict never

As someone on the team I can tell you this is absolutely false. We never did these workouts, and the workouts we did do were on the golf course or grass field. Not the track.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
