I'm happy for Katie Flood, winning in front of hometown family and friends. But Hasay and Infeld were sooo close and I thought they might have had it.

That was a nailbiter. Whew.

Hasay would have won if she hadn't got boxed in and had to come from so far behind.

Hasay got 3rd..... She'll make someone a nice wife someday, but her running days are over.

Great race and a fight to the finish. Congrats to Katie Flood. Katie had the best line coming around the turn and that was the difference. Hasay had to swing wide and Infeld had to swing in. Both with very game efforts. 1. Flood 2. Infeld 3. Hasay

Both 1500's were great races. I couldn't tell who won between Batty and Bayer and the same for 2nd between Infeld and Hasay.

Hasay went WAY wide the last 200 meters. If she was in Infeld's position she would have run 5-6 meters less and won. Also, I thought she was clearly second, but Infeld got it? Cmon.

Her running days are far from over. That's promising 1500 speed and closing speed for a 5000 runner.

Someone needs to re-take geometry.

Flood clearly had the best line and while Hasay went wide she didn't have anybody boxing her in at the turn like Infeld had. Regardless, great race by Flood and hats off to both Hasay and Infeld. Van Dalen a game 4th.
Hasay better indoors.

It was just really windy. Hasay isn't as powerful going into a 20mph wind. Much like she lost to Reid in XC. Bigger stronger runners like Flood and Reid took her down.

Infield must have had a great lean, because it looked like there was no way Hasay got 3rd and not 2nd; but I guess the finish camera doesn't lie.

That was just the angle from the camera. I originally thought Batty had Bayer too until they showed the blow up picture.

I thought just the opposite. Looked like Bayer had won to me from the race footage. But in the blow up photo picture, Batty clearly was ahead.

Agree. Still confused how Bayer beat Batty after looking at that picture. Batty's dive was clearly ahead. Ah well, cameras/timers don't lie.

Even if Batty had been ahead he should be disqualified. He clearly dove right into Bayer causing him to trip.

Agree with this, at least the race footage part, definitely looked like Bayer had the win. It seemed that even though Batty dove, he actually lost a bit a ground doing that and Bayer got it by running through the line. Or perhaps I'm not remembering it correctly.

Not to mention the 2-3 times he impeded Bayer on the turn. No one wants to be stuck in lane 2 on the last turn but you cant just start elbowing over to the rail if you haven't cleared the person inside.

Agreed. I was surprised that Bayer was able to out lean Batty considering he flailed his arms out in front of Bayer's chest at the finish.
