I was pretty young when I trained under Igloi (16-19 years old). I never ran a marathon during that time, and mostly trained for the three mile. I would say the volume that you ran (90-120 miles a week) was sufficient to run a good marathon. During my time with the club there was one marathoner training under Igloi. His name was Doug Sailor, but I don't recall his success.
