Ok, hopefully someone can help me solve this problem since I’m not the greatest with computers. I have an iMac, a Linksys WRT330N router, and an HP photosmart d110 AIO printer. My iMac connects to the internet fine and everything. The problem is when I try to print.
When I do all the connecting to the network settings from my printer, it says it works fine. It prints out a page that says everything passes and the signal to my router is excellent. However, I can’t connect to the printer from my computer. When I try to open the printer up, it says “printer offline”. Every once in a while (like maybe once a day or so), it connects fine and prints what I want it to. But then, in like 5 minutes or so, it says it goes back “offline” and I can no longer use it.
I never installed the printer to my computer using the disc it came with because I can’t. When I try to, the program must actually connect to the printer for it to finish installing it I guess. But keep in mind, I’ve been able to print from it every once in a while.
I’ve looked online and many things have said to find the ip of the computer and type it in the browser. I’ve tried this. The response I get is “Failed to open Page”, “can’t connect to server”. It only shows the webpage when I’m able to connect to it.
All I want to do is be able to print or scan whenever I want. I’ll try to answer questions as best as I can.
