I did a 20 mile run on Saturday after a big week with a speed workout on Thursday, so going into the run, I was sore. I knew my form was off during the long run but I think I may have done some real damage.
During the run my ankles and feet hurt, but it's 20 miles and I expected them to. I took a nap after and when I got up, the top left side of my foot was swollen. It did not hurt to touch, but was very puffy. I iced and then did a good amount of ice/heat elevation and compression over the last few days. Still swollen. The back/bottom of my heel hurts and when flexing my foot up, there is some stiffness in the front of my ankle.
So what did I do to myself? and since I know I am going to be told to see a doctor, do I go to a podatrist or other specialist?
