So recently I've been running through posterior tibial tendonitis (shin splints on the inside of the leg towards the ankle), and because I have been compensating slightly I now have this foot pain which is very annoying because my shin splints are basically gone. Anyway, it is in my right foot on the bottom, towards the outside, a few inches behind the little toe, kinda in the middle of the arch but on the very outside of the foot. It doesn't really hurt when walking around, only when running. My PT told me that the joint there (whatever its called) is irritated. I have performed both the flick and tuning fork test and both were negative so I don't think its a skeletal injury. If you guys know what it is or have had it before, how do you make it go away? Is there some specific type of cushioned insole I can wear and run through it? Or is time off kinda necessary?
