Im not a fast runner (4:52 1500, 19:16 5k) but Im significantly stronger at the shorter events. As the distance increases all my PR's become less impressive.
My easy run pace p1sses me off too. I can run a 60 sec 400 and a 2:19 800 but on my easy runs I struggle to run under 8:20 pace.
Now I plan to do something about this and this winter Im going to do some XC running and up my mileage/focus more on longer runs.
My question is, is it better to do my runs at a slower aerobic pace (so around 8:30) or should I push it a bit and try and run under 8 min miles?
Basically Im asking whats the best way to get my PR's to line up (i.e. to have that classic double the distance/increase the pace by 16 seconds relationship)?
