Ladies and Gentlemen,
The revolution is upon us. Please sign the following petition to ban the triple jump from USATF events as is is nothing but a novelty that serves as a constant detriment to our sport.

Didn't you post this like two weeks ago? Is this going to be one of those repeat threads (like that dude who goes on about how his family doesn't believe in evolution)?
The post two weeks ago was to guage sentiment.
Now that I know there are people who share my disdain for the event, the petition goes online.
Let's change the (running) world people!
No, let's change you by sending you away. Go away, no one cares about this other than your clumsy attempts to garner attention.
What about a petition to ban a petition to ban the triple jump! That's what I'm all about.

Why I oughta beat you to a pulp you disrespectful tart!
Yeah, it's such an arbitrary event! Unlike watching people run 7 1/2 laps over barriers, one of which has a pit of water on the other side! Or watching people run 400 meters while jumping over stuff. Or seeing who can get the highest over a bar with a stick. And at least we'll still have our 3 3/4 lap race, which just makes sense.
and lets not forget about throwing a ball attatched to a wire.
OR Walking really fast!
better than that indoor event where they throw a ball with a handle on one side

I'd have thought you'd at least have put your own name to it before going public.
I really think you need to get a hobby.

The bottom does say the petition was started by Ben Jones, although you are correct that there are no signatures.
I think that "racewalking" is an abomination. Triple jump is the least of our problems. I would also put it after the sheer multiplicity and duplicativeness of swimming individual and relay events.
At least the triple jump has some utility, such as a sudden loss of belief at one of those firewalking events, or bonding with deer in the woods.
I'm starting a petition to create a new event--
Race Skipping.
Rules to follow shortly
This is a horrible topic and whoever started this is an idiot. Ive been at many track meets where TJ is if not the best, one of the best events. TJ is exciting and if theres good competitors and is a fantastic event. I could go on forever about this, but this might be the worst post ive ever seen on this message board.

Good to know you think it is exciting if it is a fantastic event and there are good competitors.
Just to clarify good competitors in triple jump would be ones who couldn't cut it in other ACTUAL events right?
