Looking to head to Tuscon over winter for a couple of weeks and was wondering where the best places are to run that are located to motels/hotels? Is there a need to rent a car?

It's TuCSon, for starters. Common mistake. I don't know how much you're able to spend, but Starr Pass (Marriott) is the first place that comes to my mind in terms of a hotel with places to run nearby. It's in a beautiful spot with a bunch of trails that basically start at the hotel (though they can be easy to get lost on, I've found). I know there are trails at the Loews Ventana Canyon resort too, but I've never run out there (also in a beautiful area, though). The trails at Ventana might be more for hiking than running, but I'm not sure. If you want to go into the city from either place, you'll want a car. Both places are pretty upscale, especially Ventana Canyon.
I'm sure there are more options, probably including some B & B type spots, but Starr Pass and Ventana Canyon are the two biggies in my mind.
