Watching the world championships, I got thinking - what are the largest stadiums (by seating capacity) in the US with tracks in them? I can find lists for football stadiums, but none of them have tracks.

university of washngton has a pretty good size stadium with a track in it.
My guess would be the LA Colliseum is the largest in the US. 105,000 if I recall correctly, but I could be wrong.

LA does not have a track anymore. Here are US tracks over 10,000 (I'm sure this is an incomplete list):
Washington 72,000
Kansas 50,000
Boise State 32,000
Sac State 21,000
Appalachian State 20,000
Texas 20,000
Missouri State 16,000
Drake 14,000
Mt. Sac 13,000
Oregon 10,000 (expandadle)
Eastern Illinois 10,000
Others?
Penn.....
Edwards Stadium at Cal can hold 22,500 I think. The problem is that the last time I was there, most of the benches had been removed. Why? Has this changed? Pac-10's are there next year.
Western Illinois University- Hanson Field can hold 15,000
Eastern Michigan University seats 30,200.
Duke....ugh, it pains me to write that.
But their track is inside their football stadium, and it's a good track.
when carson is finished it'll be one of them.

That track is horrible. I ran there once and lane one was flodded from doing work on the football field. My coach said it holds 40,000 though I could be wrong on that
Duke's track stadium is nice, I think it's closer to 30,000 than 40,000. Soft track but nice. I think it hosted NCAAs in like 2000 or 01 or both.
Surprised to hear Hayward Field is that small what with the hype.
North Carolina A&T seats 21,500 and is probably the fastest track with 20k+ seats.
I'm glad someone broght up North Carolina A & T. I did a speed workout there when I was in the area in May and was very impressed. Very fast and a real nice stadium with a large scoreboard.
Edwards Stadium at Cal is the largest track-only stadium in the US at about 22,000. It was renovated a few years back so maybe that's why the benches weren't in when you were there. Go Bears.
You are incorrect, Wichita State has a 30,000+ seat stadium that is track and field only.

I was there was for the Pac-10 championships the last time that they hosted (2000?) and haven't been back since. There were some benches, but no seats. Have new benches been installed throughout the stadium?
I think KU is closing up shop on the track at the stadium (one of the worst tracks I've run on) and building some separate deal.
UW / Seattle for a world championships would be awesome.
This is why Worlds is yet to come to US. There is no suitable venue somewhere would have to be built. And please don't say the Penn venue is suitable. I don't even think its suitable for the Penn Relays because of the ridiculously narrow track.
