I will bet you $1000 that he does.
I was with Sammy Wanjiru in mid february. He is okey dispite what people seem to think. He has been very focussed on london marathon. This year it was abit tricky to organise the training plan given the london marathon will be two weeks later than usual,so the coach has had to make some few changes to the training program. When Sammy turned up for Lisbon,he had just completed very heavy mileage in the week therefore could not run as fast as he usually does.He has not had any problems at all but rather has been just focussed on executing the training program that was planned.I can tell you that in London he will be in 2.04 shape as long as he stays healthy.Sammy is not focussed on the half marathon this year;his main goal is breaking the marathon world record in berlin in september.See you guys in london
It was very stupid to run very high mileage (how much, do you know?) the week before an important race against strong competition. I agree he will be in 2:05 shape or better come london, but
He will certainly crack 60 again, and probably 59.

Not if he wants to run a great marathon.
A decision had been made a few weeks in advance that Sammy was not going to taper for Lisbon instead just carry on with the London program but still turn up for the race .The main concern was finishing the race without an injury, luckly he managed that.He was able to honour his contract but also stick to his goal and that was the main aim of the coach.Sammy is aiming for a 2.04 not anything slower so that that can put him very close to the record,The performance in London will play an important role in the goal of breaking the world record,God willing he will achieve this.

yeah. like german fernandez
They aren't olympic gold medalists training to run 2:04 and then sub 2:04 later this year.
yes, you're right, German Fernandez is also a girl with an Ethiopian first name and a Kenyan last name.
This is why letsrun people suck. Why all the negativity?
Tadese 2.03. You heard it here first.
why are there many wanjiru haters on this forum? the guy does not boast,he doesn't look down on people or fellow competitors and has certainly not shown disrespect to anyone,so i wonder why people in this forum hate the guy so much.

I seem to remember that Lel beat Wanjiru in London last year.
Lel has beaten Wanjiru a bunch of times, and Wanjiru beat Lel in one pretty high profile race last summer. What the hell does that have to do with Wanjiru not running well at the half marathon distance??
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
