it's chuck berry.
nobody communicated a song like freddy.
Elvis Presley.
Freddie Mercury was an amzing talent, but he can't top the King. No one can.
Venture to the most remote parts of the planet and chances are the people know who Elvis was.
yes. That question is answered in one word: Elvis.
If you can get past the (considerable) cheeseyness of what the big E did in the '70's and circus that followed his death, the stuff 1950's Elvis was doing was just off the hook.
Robert Plant
Elvis blows. He was more of a sex symbol than a musician. His music is more country than rock n roll. Freddie Mercury, Chuck Berry, Robert Plant etc. are all far better choices.
Steve Albini?
Johnny Thunders - lived the life, died the death, and was a damn under-rated guitar player - early pioneer of punk and rescuer of rock music from the hands of self-indulgent arena bands.
The Sphynx.
Elvis then a big drop off..then
Plant then...another big drof off...
another vote for freddy.

Freddy. A distant second would be Maynard James Keenan.
Amen.
Elvis is the King of Rock n Roll.
Big difference between Rock and Rock n Roll.

Well, I heard one of your gods, Robert Plant, give an interview to BBC back in 2002 where he couldn't say enough good things about Elvis. To Robert Plant, Elvis was the greatest Rock God of all time.
Elvis did cut a lot of country and Gospel songs. Much of that stuff is extremely good, by the way.
Elvis had 18 #1 hits in 5 years. I don't even think the Beatles did that.
Chuck Berry was very important, definitely in the top 5. An entire generation of rock guitarists owe a huge debt to Chuck Berry.
Elvis was at his best in his purest, earliest days...go back to stuff like "The Sun Sessions"
hmmm... let me think....
Kashmir and Stariway to Heaven
or
Jailhouse Rock and Love Me Tender
????
Yeah Robert Plant is the winner. HANDS DOWN!
