I once got hit by pole vaulting pole during a 5k. Not hard, but it sure pissed me off.
I have not stopped laughing about this for the last 2 days, so I thought I'd share it with everyone. This happened between 3 and 4 miles, and at 5:30 pace, so anyone who was there and also saw it can tell you I'm not making this up.
There was a porta-potty with it's door open in the direction of the wind. The wind was blowing in through the open door and had nowhere to go. The whole thing slid all the way across the entire road and almost took out the pack of guys right in front of me. The whole time there was a volunteer holding on to the thing trying to stop it, and it was just dragging him along with it. It was straight out of like a three stooges movie.
what would've been funnier is if the contents of the porta-potty had fell onto the road.
Kinda reminds me of when Beavis & Butt-Head went to a concert and the porta-potty got tipped over with one of them inside.

Yeah, let's not get silly here. He "collided" with a tree.
A collision means both parties/objects were moving.
Two cars can collide on a highway, but Sell did not collide with the tree unless it was moving.
Not sure if "swaying" in the wind, for example, counts.
correct a journalist. I believe if the tree branch was not advancing toward Sell, it would be acceptable to say he "crashed" into the tree branch.
The tree branch was blown from a tree and thus ran into ran iBrian while he was running. Both the branch and Brian were moving. The branch was definitly moving faster.
