Or even just a date? I know it's great for finding apartments and jobs and for buying and selling furniture and so forth, but is it so great for connecting with a potential mate?

A guy I knew who used to run on the same team as me married a girl he met on hotornot.com. They've been together for going on 3 years now.
Hotornot? Wow. Don't know if I'd go that route. What did he rate her and what was her overall rating?
if it is "mating" that you are concerned with - there are plenty of ladies who advertise "mating" services.
No, but I'm currently listing my wife for sale...
I live in Denver, met my boyfriend of one year on Craigslist. He is everything I have ever wanted. The trick is to not be looking for a relationship. Neither of us were. We were both somewhat new to town and I had these amazing Nuggets tickets and all 7 people that I knew either couldn't go or bailed on me, so I posted under purely platonic, hoping to just meet some fun new people in town. He was looking for a carpool ride to the mountains. I got well over 30 replies and choose him b/c he was the biggest smartass and not too bad on the eyes either.
Gay guys can be platonic too?
no, but I found a great 'date' for 300 bucks that was a guaranteed good time.
I found a girlfriend on CL but she left me for my wife....
Cops in Omaha just busted suburban skank for running a whorehouse out of her crib in the heart of suburbia. Bringing guys to her house in the whitebread neighborhood. Neighbors wondered what was going on. She had craigslist ad that directed people to her website, complete with prices. nice. Keep looking...I bet Denver's got one too.
anyone who ever found a girlfriend or wife on craigslist, found himself a ho for a girlfriend or wife.
end of thread.
You ain't run anywhere near a 2:20 marathon. Let's see your results. Post 'em up sissy.
I found your wife on Craigslist. She was pretty good the first 5 times.
Now tell us about YOUR wife...
One? Hahaha! You need to get out of Nebraska more often.

Yeah actually I've been on a few craigslist dates and the women tend to be above-average looking. ie, they are hotter than women I could meet on my own. I always wonder why they're lowering themselves to meeting guys online.
The men that my female friends have met on craigslist tend to be shy, uncharismatic, and average-looking.
Maybe the ratios are just really favorable for men when it comes to online dating.
Hot looking doesn't mean they don't come with drawbacks. Good looking women who scare off men in the real world can hide their neuroses and baggage better in online ads and email.
Wow...to the OP, in one word, YES. There's tons of places to find/meet people, there's TONS to do in Denver (so many bars/pubs if you like to meet people there, lounges for the more upscale scene, Christian groups/churches for the more religious-oriented, amusement parks, 16TH STREET MALL is great to meet people from all facets of life, ESPN Zone and D&B for the more athletically-inclined, any of the pro sports games or semi-pro team events, the list goes on man). I was in Colorado Springs the last 6 years and never really had a problem--Denver has a fair amount of attractive women and a surprisingly large amount of them are actually DOING something w/ their lives.
So what you are saying is that you tend to be shy, uncharismatic, and average-looking?
