very very very inaacurate!
UKA website puts it at 28'18 but I think his comments show that this should be 29'18 as he talks of being by himself and against the wind, so a slower second half by himself - seems a believable time.
29'18 is almost certainly the time, it puts him at the right place in the rankings, and a minute and a half faster than his previous best this year is 29:16.
Good result regardless, just not quite as good as a 28:18!
THought this must have been the case, sounds more likley, do you think this is still an accurace course as still nearly 1min 30 up on his pb and it isn't as if he has just started running?
been running well this autumn though and not an unrealistic time when set against what he did at 6 stage/mansfield/japan and the times a lot ran at manchester earlier in the year. Well played son
I'd be surprised if he ran that quick, if it is already a minute out who is to say it is even that close to being accurate??? He's good but he's not that good, 14.10 guy at 5k.
Nope, it's a fast course but probably not short. 1:30 sounds like a lot, but he's been running fast times on everything but a 10k for a little while now. Definitely sub 30 standard, and the quick course helped him along.
Davies usually ones this one fairly quickly, 29:21 last year and that's not beyond what I'd expect him to run.
Looking at results though, it may well be 10-30 seconds quicker than some 10ks. Need to see this years results really though.
Have to think about running this one next year, Grandparents live in the area so can go visit them :P.

errr i sometimes question how pathetic some people can be on this site. Lets clear a few things up. Yes i ran 29.18, not 28.18. The course is spot on, so im told and has been certfied. I would like to question why the above people have such a lack of faith in me?
You all have gabbled on about "how can it be accurate?", its a min 30 secs faster than his best?? Well as i have only ever done two road 10km's properly, that would explain why my best was so poor. Its an event ive never concentrated on.
At present i am in the best shape of my life, training harder than ever and avoiding injuries. I knew i was in shape to go close to 29 mins and ran the race hard from the gun, i maybe ran out of steam a bit at the end, but it was tough on my own. For the people above to "slate me" and pick faults with everything only re-assures me about how fickle the sport can be. YES- my 5km time is poor- something i will work on this summer. YES- It was a big PB but puts me back up where i want to be with my running and YES next time you feel like slagging someone off on here, maybe have the decency to find a bit out about them first. Like the fact that ive been plagued with injuries for three years, and have now changed coaches, and putting in a lot of hard work. Rather than assuming, the course is short, its a mis-print or im not that good (thnks mate for that comment)!
not me knoocking you mate. I was just confirming that it's an accurate course. Good luck for the future and all that.
P.S. 29.18 is nothing special! :)
careful your head might explode!
Looks like a great run! Especially on your own. Any future race plans?
What? have i bigged myself up? no- i was just commenting on the previous posts and putting my point across. i never said 29.18 was good either, i just said thats what i ran. sorry i forgot this forum was only for slagging people off under false names- didnt realise that being honest and informing people of something wasnt allowed.
Only two posts I can see which are negative, which for letsrun ain't that bad.
re: course length, never said it was short, just fast and was going for that off of Debbie Mason's time last year which having run a number that year was 20 seconds faster than her next fastest which was Manchester. Other results had some similiar discrepancies, which seems odd unless people were targeting a mid december race. Clearly not a short course but undeniably fast.
and the only misprint I've seen people questionning is that it was a 29:18 rather than the questioned 29:18 which is fair enough as it was the actual time you ran.
Keep up the good work and best of luck with the world XC trials in Bath. Should be a good race. Glad to hear you're over the injuries and the new coach is helping.
What training has taken you to 29:181? That is a super quick time, mileage, sessions etc.
It's definitely a fast course - look at the top 10 men and women, people will travel to do this race!

I wasn't that far behind you in chichester in feb of this over 10km how have you managed to run this quick of a time considering you have only run 14:08 for 5km.
Dubious to say the least. I cannot run 31.17 but I can beat Matthew Clough over xc.

Key word there: "XC"
Horses for courses mate. Matthew isn't a great XC runner as he is relatively new to that branch of the sport but his progress over 10k in the last year or two certainly doesn't make 31:17 unbelieveable. Why not check the facts yourself and find out?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
