Agony & Ecstasy in the Women's 10,000: Molly Huddle Gives the Bronze Away to Emily Infeld as Vivian Cheruiyot Wins Gold Once Again

Huddle had the bronze until the final step, when she slowed down to throw up her arms, allowing Infeld to sneak by on the inside. Ahead of them, Cheruiyot won her fourth global title with an impressive 60-second last lap as she kicked away from Ethiopia's Gelete Burka to win a slow race in 31:41.31. Overall, it was a fantastic race for the Americans (Shalane Flanagan was the other), as they went 3-4-6.

An American man has never medalled in the 10,000 at Worlds but Molly Huddle has a real shot at joining Kara Goucher and Shalane Flanagan as a global medallist. Vivian Cheruiyot is back from matenrity leave and seems like a near -lock for gold given Tirunesh Dibaba's absence.

2015 Stanford Invitational: Gelete Burka Outkicks Shalane Flanagan, Grunewald PRs and Wins, Brits Stabler and Aitchison Impress, German Fernandez is Back!

Shalane Flanagan showed she's ready for Boston, Gabriele Grunewald got a nice pr and win in the 5000m, Sam Stabler of Lamar had the breakthrough of the meet in the 5000m, Oliver Aitchison showed he's becoming a force at 1500m,  German Fernandez got a much needed win and Erin Teschuk got some attention.

Stephen Sambu Crushes Road 10K WR Holder Leonard Komon To Win UAE Healthy Kidney 10-K

Sambu ran 27:39 as Komon ran 28:17 getting his first loss over 10K on the road since February of 2011. Sambu also just missed the 8K WR along the way. Joyce Chepkirui won the women's race in 31:17.

This week we start by trying to put Galen Rupp's American record in perspective before handing out praise to the US men for their record-setting day in Houston, where Meb Keflezighi and  Serena Burla picked up big wins. Along the way, we give out big props to the Houston organizers, remind you to never trust a Canadian, never marry a distance runner and don't forget to drink 10 pints before your next marathon.
