A solid version of Cliftons. Improved from 4, although getting too heavy. I don't understand the knit option, though. It makes for a stiff upper. Durability has been solid after 400 miles.
As a older runner who likes cushioning on daily runs the Clifton has been my go to shoe for years. Not good for any tempo/hill/workouts for me.
Clifton 5 better than 4, but not as good as 3. Cushioning felt a bit too squishy. Felt heavier in weight, too.
I love how cushioned this shoe is; it's perfect for easy run days. It feels like running on clouds and makes my joints feel great. However, I have a pretty narrow foot, and it is super wide. It ends up rubbing my arches and leaving lots of blisters. I still wear it though, because it's worth it for my joints.
Knee problems over the years have me loving my Hokas-- love it's extra wide toe box for my bunions
